Jade Esteban Estrada's Latest Workshop is for "REEL"
PRIMADONNA PRODUCTIONS, INC. has once again joined forces with actor, comedian, and Latin pop star JADE ESTEBAN ESTRADA – a Texas native – to present his workshop for actors, "JADE ESTEBAN ESTRADA’S REEL DEAL: ON CAMERA & OFF CAMERA" covering all aspects of the arts and entertainment industries. This time, the workshop will take place over two sessions: "ON CAMERA" will be a Film Acting/Scene Study class, and "OFF CAMERA" will focus on Making It In Multiple Markets.ON CAMERA: SATURDAY, MARCH 21, 10AM - 5PM OFF CAMERA: SUNDAY, MARCH 22, 1PM - 5PM A portion of the proceeds from its workshops to an industry-related charity chosen by the speaker; for his workshop, Estrada has chosen to support the TEXAS MOTION PICTURE ALLIANCE (TXMPA). Payment must be made in full no later than the close of business on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, as spaces are limited to only 10 students for each session. This month's program will focus on Creative Correspondence; our guest speaker, Renée Young - Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Client Builders - will answer your questions and give you tips on staying in touch with talent buyers. Renée has over 25 years of customer service, sales, marketing and operations experience. Working for MCI for 8 years, Renee held the position of Senior Manager, Business Consulting Services, and was responsible for implementing a division-wide Quality Assurance Program, as well as providing internal consulting services to several departments, including Customer Service, Receivables Management, Order Processing, and Service Delivery. Renée has helped develop several sales and customer service training programs; employee recognition programs; customer and employee satisfaction programs; customer and employee survey programs; and has trained over 3000 people. Renee attended the University of Incarnate Word and holds a Bachelor Degree in Business from Richland University. | May 3 | Hot Meal/Cold Read - May 3Hot Meal/Cold Read is a monthly program for actors, designed to help them improve their auditioning skills. In each session (held on the first Sunday of every month), participants will share a meal with a special guest speaker, representing a specific genre of the entertainment industry, including independent film, commercials, corporate videos, corporate videos, and theatre.In addition to learning specific auditioning tips and techniques, participants will practice their cold-reading skills with copy provided by the guest speaker; their performances may be videotaped for review and direct feedback, at the instructor’s discretion. May's program will focus on Corporate Videos with a return appearance by one of last year's speakers, Robb Garcia. A graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Business, Robb Garcia is an award-winning producer/director with nearly 20 years of experience in the marketing and entertainment industries. He has worked in the television media market industry where he was in charge of the ratings for the South Texas DMA; he has worked with numerous production companies to produce video segments for the web and for broadcast in New York, Los Angeles, and San Antonio; and is a 2006 Latino Media Market fellow. As co-owner of G2E Services, Inc., Robb has produced marketing materials, corporate videos, demos, and presentations for such clients as Avance, Blue Star Ointment, Center for Disease Detection, the City of San Antonio, the Hispanic Professional Social Organization, and the University of Texas at San Antonio. Through his work on various projects, Robb came to meet several young and extremely talented writers, directors, and actors who needed help in bringing their projects to fruition. So in 2003 he formed 3807 Productions as a way of filling that void. Some of the company’s more notable credits include the award-winning short films Encore and Wa-Wa Que?, as well as the upcoming feature Dream Healing. Each weekly session will be taught by Nikki Young, President of PrimaDonna Productions, Inc., and will cover the history of the craft, techniques, styles, genres, and more. Participants will have an opportunity to develop their acting skills through on-camera performances, which will also be recorded, for a panel of pre-selected and invited industry professionals. Session One, from June 8-12, will cover Commercial Acting and Improvisation. Session Two, taking place from June 15-19, will cover Film Acting and Scene Study. Scene From Both Sides, Take 2: Return Of The Independent Film Experience
WHAT:PrimaDonna Productions, Inc. invites students to discover the process of filmmaking in the second year of its class, Scene From Both Sides: The Independent Film Experience. WHEN: Saturdays and Sundays July 11 - August 2, 2009 WHERE: PrimaDonna Productions, Inc. 8603 Crownhill Blvd. (near the Magic Time Machine) San Antonio, TX 78209 DETAILS: Scene From Both Sides: The Independent Film Experience is a four-week class for film actors, filmmakers, and filmgoers of all ages and levels of experience. During the program, students will participate in the production of a short film (equipment will be provided for them), and will experience all the stages of filmmaking first-hand, including writing, cinematography, editing, and screening the finished film. Introduced in November 2008, the inaugural Scene From Both Sides program was featured on WOAI's San Antonio Living and in video blogs on woai.com. The 2008 class's film, The Art of Disaster, premiered in January 2009 and was recently screened at Luminaria Arts Night in San Antonio. PRICES: Scene From Both Sides costs only $650 per student, including a non-refundable $50 registration fee, applied to the balance, to reserve a space (spaces are limited to only ten (10) students).
